Humans have built AI systems that can do everything from diagnose our illnesses, drive our cars to clean your house. But how can we trust them if we don’t understand them? I have attempted to provide an insight into the technology at layman's word so that you understand the implication quickly.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a wide-ranging branch of computer science concerned with building clever machines capable of performing tasks that typically require rational intelligence. AI is an interdisciplinary science with complicated approaches, elevations in machine learning, and deep learning are creating a paradigm shift in virtually every sector of the industry.
Human has been inventing things that are useful to him, like an extension of bodily components. Bicycle, Car, Airplane is our legs extension, Footwear is an extension of the foot sole, Typewriter was the extension of handwriting skills. Like being the computer the extension of our Brain, now AI is an extension of how our brain thinks and works, we know how our brain works, which define what we are, the fear is real that AI is going to steal from us our identity.
Let us look at how AI is created
AI is any device that understands its environment, practices and actions that maximize its chance of successfully achieving its goals.
It is a rather very complicated process simulated step-by-step reasoning that when they solve puzzles or make logical deductions.
For AI what we need is enormous processing capability along with an enormous data handling capacity. Our brain does millions of calculations per second to achieve results without much effort. This why quantum computer is being developed, existing computer technology has limitation that won't allow AI to flourish.
Our Brain capacity was reported as 1 synapse can store 4.7 bits of information. Neurons are the cells that prepare and forward messages within the brain, and synapses are the bridges between neurons that carry the conveyed messages. Running the numbers – 125 trillion synapses – 4.7 bits/synapse, and about 1 trillion bytes equaling 1 TB (Terabyte). This storage capacity is an amount of over 74 Terabytes just in the cerebral cortex alone. Ideally, AI technology is far behind our brain's capacity in terms of AI development.

Let me explain each box mentioned above
Deep learning means that instead of understanding what something is, the AI begins to learn “why.” Example Automated Driving.
Supervised you to provide the machine with the correct answer ahead of time. Example identify a car or truck comparing against the previously-stored image
Unsupervised we simply feed a machine a bunch of data so that it can find whatever patterns it can. Example Siri & Cortana
Content extraction automatically finds and extracts information of interest. Example Resume profiling based on keywords
Classifications work when the business feeds the data points, such as product stock, along with their predetermined categories.
Machine translation is the process by which computer software is used to translate a text from one natural language (such as Hindi) to another (such as Tamil).
Question answering is a computer science discipline within the fields of information retrieval and natural language processing (NLP), which is concerned with building systems that automatically answer questions posed by humans in a natural language. Example AI bots that chat with you, there is no human behind it who answers your question.
Text generation it leverages knowledge in computational linguistics and artificial intelligence to automatically generate natural language texts, which can satisfy certain communicative requirements. Example more mobile phone is able to convert what you speak of action, like dialing a number.
Text to speech (TTS) is a natural language modeling process that requires changing units of text into units of speech for audio presentation. Example great for visually impaired person
Speech to text is the opposite of speech to text, where technology takes in spoken words and tries to record them as text. The example you speak and it types the letter for you
Image recognition is the ability of software to identify objects, places, people, writing, and actions into images. Example current Covid-19 it was used to identify people with high temperature in public places.
Machine vision is the ability of a computer to see; it employs one or more video cameras, analog-to-digital conversion (ADC), and digital signal processing (DSP). The resulting data goes to a computer or robot controller. Machine vision is in a way similar in complexity to voice recognition. Example Airport immigration can scan passengers and identify if any, known suspect in trying to board the flight.
The ultimate goal of AI would be

- Acting humanly
- Acting rationally
The application of this technology's potential is enormous, the key to succeeding in this area of exciting technology is to develop knowledge in many areas, you can't merely study solely on AI and be successful, You need to understand human behaviour, how the application works, how the mechanical components work, electrical and electronic, chemical knowledge. The more you master different areas you will be successful in developing a useful AI tool.
